N_SEME 2015 Call for Works

Bowling Green State University’s College of Music Arts invites submissions for the 2015 National Student Electronic Music Event (N_SEME), March 6-7, 2015, at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. In its fourth year, N_SEME is a student-run event that will comprise concerts and installations showcasing student work in electroacoustic media from around the country. N_SEME 2014 is co-hosted by BGSUElectroacoustics in collaboration with the Musicology/Composition/Theory Department, the Composition Area, the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music (MACCM), and the student new music organization Praecepta.
Any student currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution is welcome to submit one work for consideration at the following link: http://bit.ly/nseme2015.

Deadline: December 1, 2014.

Types of submissions:

Fixed media – Up to 10 channels, or first-order Ambisonics (works with more than 5 channels will be played in repeating “mini concerts” in the Multichannel/Ambisonic studio)
Video – up to 5 channels of audio
Performer with fixed media – up to 5 channels of audio
Performer with interactive media – up to 5 channels of audio
Installations – will be presented in the Moore Musical Arts Center depending on space

Submission Criteria:
Submit web or dropbox links for review. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Fixed Media works:
Submit full quality versions for consideration. (Do not submit mp3s.)  Multi-channel works need not be reduced to stereo versions.
Video works:
Submit Quicktime H.264 versions for judging. Full resolution files will be required for performance.
Works including performers:
Submit an anonymous score, a recording of the work, and a technical requirements list.
Installations:
Submit audio/video examples of the work (if applicable/available) and specifications as a PDF document.
Works will be chosen by a blind panel of BGSU music students from various concentrations. Preference will be given to works for which the composer can provide a performer. To promote a sense of community, composers whose works are selected are required to attend.
